Appleton, WI — February 22, 2025 —On Saturday, February 22, 2025, Afroblend, a new music, cultural and connectivity platform, made its electric debut with a triple-header of events that mixed education, sports, music, and culture.
Built on a mission of exchange, inward enrichment, education, and connection, Afroblend delivered a one-day lineup designed to entertain, inspire, and transform—from the inside out. Something bold, beautiful, and wildly refreshing.
The day kicked off with Talks-EdPro at the Kimberly Public Library, focusing on personal growth, finance, and self-enrichment. Former Appleton Mayor Tim Hanna made a surprise appearance, praising the initiative’s community spirit and calling it “rooted in the Ubuntu spirit.” Other presenters included Nelstar Enterprises, AUIG Consulting on wealth-building, and Afroblend co-founders, joined by friends and well-wishers.
Next came the action: Afroblend Sports at the Appleton YMCA, where basketball and volleyball was played in a friendly setting fostering bonding, and fitness-fueled fun. It wasn’t about competition—it was about connection.
The night wrapped with a blowout Afrobeat Music and Culture Party at 10th Frame—and it did not disappoint. Appleton’s sought after DJ, DJ Lyrics, spun a seamless blend of Afrobeats, Amapiano, and American jams, creating a dancefloor mashup of continents and cultures. Think African meets America and they all meet Caribbean, with rhythm, soul, and heat to match. The crowd danced well into the night under lights, laughter, and global grooves with friendly 10th Frame atmosphere.
Afroblend’s debut wasn’t just an event—it was a vibe, a statement, and the beginning of something bigger. As one guest put it, “It felt like community, like purpose—and like a really good time.”
